Prague,
in Czeck 'Praha', doesn't have a gay village. The bars etc are spread around
town, but most are in Praha 1 (Old & New Town), Praha 2/10 (Vinohrady),
and Praha 3 (Zizkov), which are areas in the center of Prague.
Prague
is the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic. Situated on the
Vltava river in central Bohemia, it is home to approximately 1.2 million
people. Nicknames for Prague have included "city of a hundred spires" and
"the golden city". Since 1992, the historic center of Prague has been included
in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.
As
a tourist, and especially as a gay one, excercise caution and restraint.
Remember, this is a city not long out of the grip of communism, and like
most countries that are in the process of adjusting to a new climate, there's
high inflation, lots of joblessness, and consequently lots of crime. Stick
to the tourist route, or take a taxi to somewhere you want to find, but
have no idea where it is, and you'll be fine. Prague is a very beautiful
city and has a lot of tourism, so it's not as bad as that may sound, but
its probably not one of the best places to go wondering off down back streets.
Then again, that applies to just about any major city.
