February 2012
One
of the first things that will strike you about Buenos Aires is just how
friendly Argentinean's are, that's after you've noticed how cute they are!
Buenos Aires has a great, modern gay scene with ever more Resto-Bars -
a favorite style of hang out in the city, which is part restaurant, part
bar. In fact, most of the restaurants we list are in fact Resto-Bars, as
are some of the bars we list. As well as the vibrant gay scene, Buenos
Aires is a shopper's paradise, with all the top designer names and beautiful,
quaint shopping districts. Like all Latinos, Argentinean's love to party,
so get ready for long nights of partying and siestas in the afternoon to
recover for the next night.
Buenos
Aires is the capital and largest city of Argentina. It is geographically
located on the southern shore of the Río de la Plata, on the southeastern
coast of the South American continent. Greater Buenos Aires is the third
largest conurbation in Latin America, with a population of about 13 million.
In English, Buenos Aires means "Fair Winds" or "Good Air." After the internal
conflicts of the 19th century, Buenos Aires was federalised and removed
from Buenos Aires Province in 1880. The city limits were enlarged to include
the former towns of Belgrano and Flores, which are both now neighbourhoods
of the city. People from Buenos Aires are called porteños (people
of the port).
